First Times

I saw you staring at me from across the room.  I’d never noticed you looking before tonight. You usually seem aloof, definitely not interested in connecting. The teacher said we were welcome to stay after class and play, so I walked over and asked if you would like to fly me.

Up in the air, my body perched on your feet, hands holding on tightly, I noticed for the first time, what a nice smile you have.  I wonder if you were thinking the same thing about me.
