A Little Under the Weather

It’s my turn to be sick.  My sons went with their dad for the weekend, feeling human again after their week long bout with the flu. Mine is not so serious.  Just a cold that’s making me move at a slower pace.  I haven’t felt like eating any more than peanut butter and crackers and the top of a muffin.   Mostly drinking warm water and taking adrenal support capsules.  Add a flu homeopathic.  Then another every six hours as the package instructs.  A precautionary measure.

I almost never get sick.  I think I have a good constitution, in addition to my healthy lifestyle and overall positive attitude.

A small illness can be a good thing.  Tonight I stayed home instead of going to the Reggae Fest at Mojos.  I needed a calm, quiet night home alone.  So that’s what I gave myself.  I have been roaming around the house with the lights on low, in silence.  Except for the short period when I watched Bruno Mars videos on my phone.  He’s my new love.  My son turned me onto his Uptown Funk video and I’ve been hooked ever since.  He sings, “I’m too hot.”  And he sure is.  Oh and I’m likin’ those dance moves Bruno.  Usually I’m right up there with you gettin’ my groove on.  And his rendition of When I Was Your Man, with accompanying video, can easily bring me to tears .  But no dancing or crying tonight.  Only silently watching and listening.

Lying in bed now, I feel fatigued.  But a pleasant kind of fatigue.  I feel at peace.  My nervous system calm, unlike those first few weeks back from Boulder.  Both ends of the spectrum are good and valuable, but it’s nice to not feel revved up tonight.

Being a little under the weather allows me to just be, with no concern for the outside world, for what I need to get done, no worries about  taking care of someone else, only myself.  I’m almost ready to give into this deeply relaxed state, and fall asleep.  Fall into the realm of dreams.  My dreams have been giving me a lot of information as of late, as well as the messengers coming to visit me in my sitting meditation.  I’m tapping into that place that I have been aspiring to reach.  That place in the subconscious.  It’s interesting and intriguing.

As I hover between awake and asleep, I have many random images and people popping by.  I see them even as my eyes are open and I am not dreaming yet.  They’re just thoughts.  I’m keeping the phone near just in case a friend decides to stop by in the form of a late night call.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings.  I have a feeling it will be another relaxed day.  A day to recharge my batteries so I will feel fresh for the next week.  I’ve included the links to the Bruno Mars videos below.  I hope you them enjoy as much as I do.

Haha! Just saw your post about that. Can’t wait to watch the video! Yay! Although, to bad for him, he has been replaced by my new boyfriend, Jason Derulo. I do still have a bit of a fancy for Bruno though. (Don’t tell Jason.) Haha!

Was glad to hear that you’re feeling better. 🙂 The Bruno Mars videos were good, not exactly my preferred genre but he is clearly very talented. Reminds me of MJ in his prime. I think that with a little work I could dance like he does, 🙂 , but the curlers might be more of a challenge.
    Peace to you.
